Patrick Donovan, N.D., at the University Health Clinic in Seattle considers diet and nutritional/herbal supplementation to be critically important. He also feels it is important to understand the psychological side of the disease process. He feels the mind can affect immunity, since immune cells can send chemical messages to the brain. It is therefore important to transform negative thoughts and emotions because they can be extremely toxic to the body's anti-cancer defense system.

Emotional healing is an important part of therapy.
